Roundabouts and a bridge part of major plans
Ballasalla residents were given a glimpse of what the village could look like in years to come this week.
Designs for a bypass and 282 new houses in fields to the east of Ballasalla were presented by developer Dandara at Malew Commissioners' offices yesterday (13 Dec).
It's understood an official planning application will be submitted within the next two months.
Pending permission, the first of the three construction phases will include 135 mixed homes, and the first stretch of the new road.
Dandara designers have planned a roundabout on Douglas Road which will lead off to the bypass, with a bridge proposed to take the highway over the railway line.
The bypass will continue to Balthane, where government will be required to construct a new roundabout.
