Barge used to help refurb
The first details on how the Queen’s Pier in Ramsey will be restored have been revealed.
It’s emerged a barge will be placed in the bay underneath the pier to help repair the first 50 metres of the Victorian landmark, which closed in 1991.
Harbour chiefs have issued a licence allowing the newly formed Queen’s Pier Restoration Trust to survey the pier.
Spokesman Tom Durrant hopes work can start as soon as realistically possible.
