The centenary will be observed in a variety of ways on the Island.
Manx National Heritage has spent the last 18 months putting together an exhibition and accompanying book, 'This Terrible Ordeal'.
The exhibition opens on February 8 and Social History curator Matthew Richardson says it's crucial we acknowledge this important year:

Immigration changes designed to stop exploitation by 'bad eggs'
Contingency budget for horse tram tracks 'significantly increased'
Nursery group wants to 'bridge the gap' for families of two-year-olds
Orchestra hoping to attract 'different kind of audience' at next concert
Planning Committee says temporary dental unit at hospital is 'government failure'
