
Five drivers have been arrested by police within a week of the launch of this year's Christmas anti drink-drive campaign.
According to the Island's road safety manager that represents a quarter of the total number arrested during last year's campaign.
The push which began in late November and lasts into the new year, is based on a pub 'specials' board and lists the penalties those prosecuted can expect to face.
The Department of Infrastructure has produced an awareness leaflet, listing public transport services and taxi numbers to encourage people to make advance travel plans for their journey home after a night out.
