Bid to preserve steam railway-related buildings
A railway station and water tower in the South of the Island are just two of five buildings the Department of Infrastructure says it would like to see registered.
The DoI says the Railway Station, a nearby goods shed, and Four Roads Gatehouse in Port St Mary could soon be given protected status as well as Ballasalla Gatehouse and Water Tower on Station Road.
Registering the buildings would mean they couldn’t be extended, altered or demolished without special permission.
You can find out more on the government’s website gov.im – and you have until June 5 to send any comments to the department.
