Abuse of police authority challenged
Five new complaints were made to the Police Complaints Commissioner in the past year, it’s been revealed.
The commissioner’s annual report is due to be discussed by Tynwald when it sits a week later this month.
In it, Geoff Karran MBE says four of the five new complaints from 1 April 2015 to 31 March this year were about abuses of authority, while one more was for an allegation of assault.
His report also says one complaint in the previous year was substantiated - an incident where information was improperly disclosed.
