Tynwald votes unanimously to fund it
A new £5 million daycare facility for disabled people will be built in Braddan, after Tynwald unanimously agreed to fund it.
It will replace the existing Eastcliffe Resource Centre on Victoria Road, Douglas, and the Greenfield Garden Centre on Glencrutchery Road.
The new site, in the other grounds of Noble's Hospital, will provide craft workshop facilities, a public cafe and shop, and staff accommodation.
Construction will begin in the near future - but there were reservations among Tynwald members about whether the building would be adequately staffed and maintained after it was constructed.
