Arrests follow joint operation with Merseyside
Five men accused of running a drug-dealing gang between the Isle of Man and Liverpool have been remanded in custody.
They were arrested this week as part of a joint operation targeting large amounts of cannabis smuggled to the Island in cars.
Three men from Merseyside appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse this morning: Francis Richard Dunne (34), Stephen Joseph James Alty (39) and Liam Dunne (32).
They were joined by two local men: 31-year-old Jamie Smith, of Maple Avenue in Onchan, and 28-year-old Darren Dooley, care of the Isle of Man Prison.
The case has been adjourned until next Thursday, 28 February.
