Ronaldsway says supply used in one day
Flights to Ronaldsway had to be cancelled yesterday after the airport ran out of de-icer.
The airport confirmed the news in a tweet, claiming handling agent Menzies went through a three-month supply of de-icer (which typically lasts for two years, given the amount of snow the Island has) in one day, thanks to the conditions.
Problems are continuing around the Island today with the north of the Island expected to be worst hit.
There are already reports of cars in the region being abandoned.
Elsewhere, bus routes have been revised due to some roads being in too poor a condition for the vehicles to reach.
You're advised to check with Bus Vannin about specific routes before setting out.
Motorists are also being warned about the risk of ice on roads.
Any unnecessary journeys continue to be discouraged by the authorities.
