Independents' Day declared in Douglas
Independent stores in Douglas town centre are joining forces in a special 4th July shoppers' promotion today.
The event's been named Independents' Day by organisers Douglas Development Partnership.
More than 15 locally-owned and run shops, cafes, salons and studios are taking part - highlighting their specialist and often unique goods and services.
Shoppers can take part in a quiz based on the names of the shops, with a chance to win vouchers worth more than £100.
The Partnership's town centre manager Michelle O'Malley says independent retail outlets are the lifeblood of the high street:
