Closed route seven minutes after it reopened one-way
Footage has been released of the rider whose crash closed the Mountain Road last Friday, just seven minutes after it had reopened one-way for TT fortnight.
It's been posted on the Isle of Man Constabulary Roads Policing Unit's Facebook page.
The crash happened at the Verandah, and involved two motorcycles.
The post says the rider, amazingly, only suffered minor injuries, adding the consequences could have been much worse, and riders have been killed in similar crashes.
He was fined £120 and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points for riding without due care and attention.
Officers say the rider who took the video pulled into the next safe place at the Bungalow and reported it to the police there; as a result they were able to respond rapidly.
