Community event marred by licence row
The former chairman of the Castletown Festival says the heart of the current row between the police and the event organisers lies in when the event finishes.
The police have criticised the Festival Organisers, claiming they have been reluctant to accept their responsibilities as the event organiser.
They say drunken behaviour by young people has been a problem at the event for some years.
Former MHK Tony Brown says he knows for a fact that the police want the celebration to stop at 6 o'clock.
