Jon Joughin to contest East Douglas seat
A former Douglas Councillor is to make a bid for the House of Keys.
Jon Joughin is the first to announce he’ll contest the soon to be vacant seat in East Douglas, following the resignation of long standing MHK Brenda Cannell.
Mr Joughin was forced to stand down from the council in July when it emerged he wasn’t on the electoral register.
Changes earlier this year meant people had to register to be on the list rather than their name be automatically retained.
Mr Joughin says he’s served his apprenticeship at local authority level and is ready to make the step up.
