It's emerged this evening (Tuesday) that one of the police officers shot dead in Greater Manchester today used to live in the Isle of Man.
Fiona Bone, 32, whose parents live in Port St Mary, was shot in the Mottram area along with her 23 year-old colleague Nicola Hughes.
It's thought the women were attacked as they attended what's now thought to be a bogus report of a crime.
Soon afterwards, Dale Cregan - who was wanted over the murders of two men - handed himself into a nearby police station.
Fiona was educated in the Island at Castle Rushen High School and her family here are being supported by police welfare officers.
