Death of 26th post holder announced by Government House
Former Lieutenant Governor Sir Timothy Daunt has died.
Government House says the 87-year-old died on Saturday at his home in London.
Sir Timothy was appointed as the Island’s 26th Lieutenant Governor in 1995 and held the role until 2000.
Prior to this he was ambassador to Turkey in the late 1980s and 1990s and later deputy undersecretary of state at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
