Convicted election fraudster broke after legal battle
Braddan Commissioners say they’re determined to recover as much money as possible after issuing bankruptcy proceedings against a former clerk.
Charles Buster Lewin, who served a jail term for his involvement in election fraud in the Douglas East by-election five years ago, was declared bankrupt at the start of this month.
It’s after he lost his wrongful dismissal case against the board and faced paying the local authority’s £300,000 legal bill.
The Commissioners have appointed a bankruptcy trustee and say information about the process will be advertised shortly.
