He was born on 4 October 1933 and grew up in Braddan
​Tributes are being paid to Allan Wilcocks, a former chairman of Manx Radio, who's passed away at the age of 90.
He was one of the broadcaster's original directors and held the position as chair between 1984 and 1996.
He's been described as a 'leading light' for the Manx Music, Speech and Dance Festival, and won the Cleveland Medal four times in the 1960s.
Mr Wilcocks was also a judge of the Braaid Eisteddfod; a traditional event which celebrates Manx culture and this was something he discussed with Manx Radio's Beth Espey and Christy DeHaven back in 2019:
