Peter Karran announces candidacy for Onchan
A former MHK has announced his intention to stand in September's General Election.
Peter Karran spent three decades in the House of Keys between 1985 and 2016 - first as a member for Middle, and then Onchan, where he plans to run again as a member of the Liberal Vannin Party.
Announcing his candidacy, Mr Karran says he is "horrified at the way many things have gone backwards over the last 10 years".
"Many of the social problems that are destroying the very fabric of our society have simple solutions", he says.
"I believe that my experience will help in a very challenging time, and help set the direction of government for our nation.
"I intend to put myself forward as a candidate for Onchan in the upcoming General Election"
The other candidates standing in Onchan are: Rob Callister, Gabriella Corkish, Julie Edge, Rachel Glover, and Oliver Lockwood.
