Budget shows 'significant investment' in infrastructure, says Allinson
The former Treasury Minister is urging government to continue talks going forward over funding for Isle of Man Sport.
Speaking during Tuesday's Tynwald debate over the 2026 Manx budget, Dr Alex Allinson believes this year's budget shows 'significant investment' in the Island's sporting infrastructure.
Included in this year's proposals is a commitment of more than £2.6million over three years to upgrade facilities at the NSC in Douglas in preparation for the 2029 Island Games and to improve facilities for local communities.
Dr Allinson adds government's recently-published strategy for sport recognises that sport and physical activity are 'integral' to 'health, education, environmental stability and economic development':
