A former treasury minister is cautioning against 'emotional' decisions when it comes to the pension triple lock.
Eddie Teare believes there's been a lack of willingness to look at the system, which guarantees state pensions increase by average earnings growth, UK CPI or 2.5 percent each year.
Treasury did propose scrapping the system during the current administration, but performed a u-turn following criticism from some politicians.
But Mr Teare has questioned the motivation for committing to the triple lock:
