Gov't expenditure is 'out of control'
A former Keys candidate and senior policy officer in the Treasury says government expenditure is completely out of control.
Gerard Higgins worked in Treasury for 39 years and stood unsuccessfully in the 2021 general election for Douglas South.
He says the latest two percent increase to the higher rate of income tax, will put more pressure on the squeezed middle and low income households.
Mr Higgins believes the first priority should always be to cut what he calls excess administration, bureaucracy, quangos and needless projects:

Government 'neglecting' heritage assets across the Island
Motiv8: 'We will never reach all the children on the Isle of Man'
House of Keys question paper dominated by one MHK
Onchan Commissioners to undertake 'accessibility' review of park equipment
Efforts to push more services online causing frustration in community
