Former TT rider's family at risk of losing house after rejected insurance pay out

Helayna Ingham, wife of Daniel Ingham, posted an emotional plea on social media

The family of a former TT rider says they're at risk of losing their house after an insurance firm rejected to pay out.

Helayna Ingham, wife of Daniel Ingham who died while competing at the TT this year following a crash at Doran's Bend, has posted an emotional plea on social media.

She said: "I never thought I would have to ask for help to keep a roof over my children’s heads.

"Sadly, due to technicalities surrounding the circumstances of [Daniel's] death, we have now been informed that his life insurance is not going to pay out.
"This has left us facing a huge amount of financial uncertainty at a time when we are already trying to cope with losing Dan."

Due to this, Helayna set up a GoFundMe page to help with the costs.

She added: "On top of losing my amazing husband, I am now facing the possibility of losing our forever home — my children’s home.

"The home Dan and I worked so hard to build, where we have made so many memories together.

"My priority now is Joey and Phoebe, and doing everything I can to protect their home and their future."

The fundraiser has already reached over £13,000 with a target of £24k.
