Council's new scheme to start later this summer
Douglas Borough Council is introducing a fortnightly kerbside domestic garden waste collection service.
It will be launched later this summer and then run between February and October each year.
The service will operate in parallel with kerbside recycling collections – once underway household refuse collections will move from weekly to fortnightly.
Councillor Falk Horning is the chair of the environmental services committee:
Douglas Council says it appreciates there will be a period of adjustment when the changes are brought in but it hopes it will reduce the amount of waste people create.
Eligible households can register for a garden waste bin by emailing recycling@douglas.gov.im or by telephoning 696448. You can find out more HERE.
