One in four will live with it at some point in their lives
One in four people on the Isle of Man will live with domestic abuse at some point in their life.
The Domestic Abuse Forum says more awareness is needed about the issue despite a decrease in the number of cases being reported to police this year.
It held a conference called ‘What Does Domestic Abuse Look Like on the Isle of Man’ at Keyll Darree yesterday (29 June).
Professionals from the police, charities, and safeguarding groups were brought together to explore the issue.
Around 50 percent of referrals to Victim Support are for domestic abuse.
