Tax and accountancy professional announces intention to stand in general election

A fourth candidate has declared their intention to stand in Douglas North in the upcoming House of Keys General Election.

Jason Cheetham owns a small tax accountancy firm, and is standing as an independent candidate.

He lists immigration and border control, energy production and cost of living among his priorities.

He says: "We have consistently seen commitments made without meaningful action, leaving people wondering if things are ever going to improve. I do not believe that's good enough for the people of the Isle of Man, and I want to be part of making that change and hold the Government accountable for the decisions it makes.

"I believe politicians and the Government should be wholly open and accountable for everything they do. Their actions should be transparent and open to public scrutiny."

The other candidates standing in Douglas North are David Ashford, Peter Washington and Hugo Yates.

The General Election takes place on 24 September.
