Last month was the fourth consecutive month on the Island where rainfall was well above the long term average.
It was also the coldest September since 1994.
The total amount of rainfall measured at the airport was just under 4.5 inches - 50% more than normal.
The wettest day was Monday 24 with 1.3 inches of rain, but almost three times that amount fell on the hills which led to localised flooding.
Depite the rain and poor temperatures, sunshine was slightly above average with 142 hours recorded.
