Freezing conditions cause icy roads

Police urge caution

Drivers are being warned to watch out as chilly conditions hit Manx roads.

The Ballavagher Road in St John's remains closed after a single vehicle collision earlier.

Temperatures dipped briefly below freezing overnight, leading to frost on a number of main routes and back roads.

Higher ground, central and western areas are predominantly affected - with reports of particular patches around Glen Helen and Archallagan.

Gritters have been sent to clear the worst-hit areas.

The ice is expected to clear by late morning.
