A local group, celebrating the life of the late political activist Sophia Goulden, will gather at University College Isle of Man today (8 March) to mark International Women's Day.
Sophia Goulden, born in 1833, was credited for the role she played in influencing the political career of her daughter Emmeline Pankhurst, who is best remembered for leading the UK's suffragette movement to victory with the right to vote.
Lynn Owens, of Friends of Sophia Goulden, said a small statue of the activist will be unveiled:
