Only five projects have been successful
Less than a fifth of bids for funding for road schemes have been approved over the last three years.
Treasury has given the go-ahead to just five of the 28 proposals put forward by the Department of Infrastructure since the 2019-20 financial year.
Ten schemes were submitted for the current year with a combined budget of almost £80m.
However just £6.25m, of the £37.3m requested, for a climate change and flood mitigation scheme in Douglas and Laxey was approved - the only project to receive backing.
Works to protect against coastal erosion at Castletown Promenade, Bay ny Carrickey, Peel Promenade and Kirk Michael were not approved.
Schemes previously granted funding include work on the Heritage Trail between St John's and Kirk Michael and refurbishment of Michael Street in Peel.
The five projects approved over the last three years have a combined budget of just over £11m despite almost £103m having been requested.
