Lifetime Achievement Award winner at Sports Awards 2014
The funeral of an Island sport stalwart will be held this morning (Wed).
Pat Anderson, who passed away last week at the age of 74, will be best remembered for her invaluable role in badminton.
She represented the Island at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in Canada in 1978 and, along with husband Frank, went onto run local badminton leagues, Isle of Man county matches and badminton tournaments at every Island Games from 1985 until 2011.
They were also Commonwealth Games administrators.
A former secretary of the Isle of Man Football Association, Pat was thrilled when they became the first couple to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Isle of Man Sports Awards in 2014.
The funeral will be held at All Saints Church in Douglas at a quarter to 11 (10.45am).
