Ellis Killey had variety of interests
A well-known Island ballroom dance teacher and former Onchan commissioner will be remembered later today (Wednesday).
The funeral of Ellis Killey will be held at St Peter’s Church in Onchan at two o’clock.
A retired civil servant with the then tourist board and a one-time member of the Board of Education, Mr Killey was heavily involved in various aspects of the Island’s community.
He was a blue badge guide and ran the Killey Academy of Dancing in the Island, alongside his wife Frances, and was the organiser of the annual Isle of Man Dance Festival.
He served on the board from 1998 until 2008 and was commissioners’ chairman from 2003 to 2004.
