Additional six months' rent payment
A further six month's funding has been granted to the Sayle Gallery.
The money has been agreed following what's described as an "amicable" meeting between Education Minister Tim Crookall and Sayle Gallery representatives.
The news comes shortly before a scheduled public meeting this evening.
The Sayle Gallery has been granted funding for an additional six months’ rent payments, and 50% funding for an Artist in Residence for 2016.
The previously agreed funding for rent was due to expire at the end of March 2016.
The Department of Education and Children is the sponsoring department of the Arts Council and oversees the allocation of the Council's budget.
Minister Tim Crookall says he's happy that a way forward has been agreed in the short term, but adds that it's important that the department is assured the Sayle Gallery will use this extra period of funding to find a suitable strategy for the future.
