Weather and collision delay works
The Department of Infrastructure says work on the Mountain Road will necessitate a further closure of the route next week.
Staff had been due to continue putting new white lines down yesterday, but the wet and misty weather meant the job couldn't be carried out.
The DoI says material used for the lines must be laid down when the temperature and moisture levels are within certain parameters.
Today's attempt was then delayed by a four-vehicle collision on the Mountain Road.
It means the department now plans to have a further go at it on Tuesday next week, with the closure planned for between 9.30am and 4.30pm.
