Charity says animal welfare and the impact on the ecosystem need to be properly assessed
Manx Wildlife Trust says the Island's wallaby population needs to be properly assessed - not only for the impact they're having on the ecosystem but for the benefit of the animals themselves.
A colony has adapted to living in the Ballaugh Curraghs after some escaped from the nearby wildlife park in the 1960s.
A survey conducted by the charity last year found there to now be around 140 animals per square kilometre in the area - roughly 570 in total.
