Contract available in Tynwald Library
Contractual agreements between government and any sea service operator will remain publicly available.
That's according to the infrastructure minister - who made the commitment in the House of Keys this morning (11 April) in response to a question pitched by Douglas North member David Ashford.
Ray Harmer insists Tynwald and the public will be kept in the loop as the department looks to secure an outcome before the Steam Packet agreement comes to a close in 2020.
The DoI hopes to provide Tynwald with an update later this year.
The current contract is accessible in the Tynwald Library - that, Mr Harmer says, won't change when a new operator is appointed:
