Cabinet Office recommends five quangos go
Government is recommending five quangos be abolished, including the Gaelic Broadcasting Committee, following a Cabinet Office review.
The exercise was undertaken as part of the Programme for Government, with each body assessed by its rationale, relevance, scope, structure and value for money.
As well as the Gaelic Broadcasting Committee, the Police Advisory Group, Police Consultative Forum, Education Council and Religious Education Committee could be scrapped.
Under the review, departments are encouraged to identify and make reforms and savings, within clear timescales.
The report is to be laid before Tynwald this month - on Tuesday 18.
