
Severe gales have been battering the Island again again - but there will be a ferry crossing this evening (24th)
There have been storm force ten winds in the Irish Sea but winds are predicted to drop this afternoon.
The Steam Packet says the Ben-my-Chree will operate an additional sailing from Douglas at 9pm, returning from Heysham at 3am on Christmas morning.
Passengers from the cancelled sailings have been transferred to the new times.
Those who would like to make alternative arrangements are asked to contact the Steam Packet on 661 661.
Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward says they decided to put on the extra sailing to help passengers affected by this morning’s cancellation and to ensure the continued movement of cargo.
He adds that the weather conditions of the past few days have presented some challenges to the travelling public and thanks customers for their ongoing understanding and patience.
