Garff Commissioners asking attorney general to reconsider windfarm election advice

Chair Richard Henthorn says residents have a right to know views of candidates 

Garff Commissioners is asking the attorney general to reconsider advice given to General Election candidates about discussing the Mooir Vannin Offshore Wind Farm. 

Those standing in the House of Keys elections have been told not to talk about the proposals because it could create a conflict of interest during future decision-making process. 

The commissioners believe there need to be 'guardrails' in place so people know how much they can say before an issue arises.

Local authority Chair Richard Henthorn says residents have a right to know the views of candidates ahead of polling day.
