Convictions cleared after thirty years, but calls for apologies continue
A gay rights campaigner says Manx police have 'a lot to answer for' for the way laws targeting gay men on the Isle of Man were enforced.
Thirty years since the decriminalisation of consensual homosexual acts, people convicted, or cautioned, have been granted automatic pardons.
But Alan Shea, who successfully petitioned Tynwald in 1991, says there are still old wounds which need to heal.
He's repeated his call for Chief Constable Gary Roberts to issue an apology before he retires:
