9,000 people attend inaugural event
A gay rights campaigner has praised the first Pride festival as a step forward for the Isle of Man.
Alan Shea rose to prominence as one of the people who fought for the decriminalisation of homosexuality on the Island in the late '80s and early '90s.
The event - which attracted around 9,000 people - was held at the Villa Marina Gardens on Saturday and was organised by charity Isle of Pride.
Mr Shea spoke to Manx Radio after taking part in the Long Walk to Pride parade through the town centre:
