'Reasonable steps' says Information Commissioner
The Information Commissioner has downplayed fears about how new rules on data protection will affect businesses - as government struggles to find support for the regulations.
Iain McDonald says there was 'scaremongering' and 'confusion' ahead of the May deadline for GDPR across Europe.
Earlier this week, the Manx government failed to gain sufficient support in Tynwald for new regulations bringing them into force.
Mr McDonald says the majority of organisations will be affected - but the burden will be about 'reasonable steps'.
