Cronky show and Big Spud weigh-in today
An autumnal highlight in the rural west of the Island takes place today (Thurs 15th).
The 25th Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Society Flower and Produce Show is at Ballakaighen Farm off the Staarvey Road.
Entries are being accepted between 9.30 and 11.30 this morning (Thurs), with the world famous Big Spud weigh in at 3pm, when the event will be opened to the public by Sue Woolley.
Traditional skills of lanket and suggane making are on display at 7 pm . . followed by an auction of all the produce.
The event, organised by the Cronk y Voddy Ploughing Match Society is free to all - with proceeds going towards local charity Bridge the Gap.
