New term beckons as schools open
The Island's primary and secondary schools open for the autumn term this morning after the summer break (7 Sept).

For the new intake of around 860 Year 7 pupils, a new era in education begins on their first day in secondary school - with travelling to school by bus a new experience.
The infrastructure department says it's discovered a problem with some Go School bus cards - which have expired and will no longer work on its services.
Replacements for cards issued in 2014 will be distributed this week and any remaining journey credit from the old cards will be transferred to the new ones.
The cards were originally sold as 'non-expirable'.
Students have been assured there'll be no charge for the replacement, and they don't need to take any action - but they're asked to dispose of their old cards to avoid confusion.
