Former Manx resident Fiona Bone remembered
Greater Manchester Police says today's memorial service for two police officers murdered a decade ago is a reminder of the ‘dangerous situations’ that officers face on a daily basis.
People in Manchester will gather to remember PC Fiona Bone, who grew up in Port St Mary, and PC Nicola Hughes who were killed in the line of duty in 2012.
The incident was the first in the United Kingdom in which two female police officers were killed on duty.
Fiona’s sister Vicky told Manx Radio she is never far from anyone’s thoughts:
