Fire prevented from spreading to vehicles
A gorse and heath fire has been tackled by fire crews this morning.
They were called to Churchtown, Lezayre, on the outskirts of Ramsey at around 11am, with two major appliances and an off-road Pinzgauer being sent to the scene.
Initial information suggested the fire was spreading to nearby vehicles: crews quickly prevented this from happening by using high pressure hose reels to put out the flames.
They were in attendance for about an hour to damp down hot spots.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning this weekend about the possibility of grass fires in the current warm and dry conditions, along with advice on how you can prevent them from happening.
