Senior civil servants give evidence to PAC
The Island’s top civil servant has been defending the speed of government change government this afternoon, appearing before Tynwald’s Public Accounts Committee.
The committee is looking into the Transforming Government Programme and its improvement programmes – this afternoon it heard from Chief Secretary Will Greenhow, Financial Controller Caldric Randall and Director of Change and Reform Dan Davies.
They explained making government more efficient had been a slow task – but rejected suggestions there was still a “silo mentality” in departments.
Under questioning from committee chairman Alf Cannan MHK, Mr Greenhow said the pace of change is accelerating:
