Assistance for those at 'higher risk' over rising costs
A further £5.7million of support payments are to provided to residents to help with the current cost of living crisis this winter.
The assistance will be offered to those who are at higher risk of fuel and food price increases.
Energy Support Payments of £300 will be offered to anyone who receives an income-related benefit such as income support or employed person's allowance who are responsible for paying housing costs.
Those payments will be paid between 13-27 October and again in December.
Meanwhile, Family Support Payments of up to £400 will be available to those who receive child benefit, depending on family size.
Those payments will be given in November and again in late December or early January.
