DEFA contacts local authorities for their views
Seaweed could be used as agricultural fertiliser on the Isle of Man.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it’s conducting a ‘small piece of work’ to look at potential uses for the naturally deposited material.
It says it follows inquiries made by individuals due, in part, to the wider geopolitical situation and the impact it’s having on the availability and price of fertiliser.
Minister Clare Barber told the House of Keys this week that the department has contacted commissioners in the first instance:
