Allinson says amount received in tax has fallen from previous high
The Manx Government currently receives 52.95 pence for each litre of petrol sold on the Island.
The price of fuel has hit record highs in recent weeks, though prices at the pumps on Island are still lower than in the UK.
Treasury Minister, Alex Allinson says the amount received in tax has actually fallen from a previous high, after the UK government cut the duty by five pence.
He admits though that as a general rule higher prices mean more cash into the Treasury's coffers:
