2018 – The Year of Our Island begins
A year-long showcase of the Manx natural environment, arts, culture, heritage and community spirit was officially launched last night (Mon) at the Villa Marina.
Government's promotional campaign '2018 – The Year of Our Island' is now underway.
All departments are set to cooperate on projects like active travel to ensure tourists and the Manx can access many attractions across the Island.
Other plans include further promotion of the UNESCO biosphere status and a series of specific events aimed at engaging the local community and tourists through 2018.
Speaking at yesterday's (22 Mon) launch both DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot and DOI Minister Ray Harmer gave their views on the project:
